Why Doesn't Obama Show His Birth Certificate? Update

Pretty simple, really. Would you? If a group of mostly racist nutcases, together with some of their politician friends, fabricated a story about you in order to cast doubt upon your qualifications for political office, would you be willing to legitimize them by placating their demands? He has already done more than is required by posting a copy of his birth certificate on-line.

All of this "birther" nonsense is nothing more than racists and Republicans (some would argue that they are one and the same) trying to cast doubt among the electorate. The Republicans have done everything short of assassination to try to discredit the President. They, recently, have even gone so far as to say that defeating the President is more important than fixing the health care nightmare in this country. All that this nasty maneuvering has done is to dig them deeper into the permanent abyss that they are creating for their final fall.

Yesterday the House unanimously voted on a resolution, commemorating Hawaii's statehood, that included wording noting that Hawaii is the birthplace of the president. After an objection by a darling of the fringe, Michelle Bachman, the Repugs finally voted for something. I am amazed that they were able to press the yes button on their voting machine. It did nothing positive for the country, so they felt safe, I suppose.

The poor people in state government in Hawaii have had to put up with this birth nonsense for months. Even the Republican governor of the state confirmed the President's birth months ago. Yet the lunatic fringe, now lead by Lou Dobbs, continues to perpetuate the myth. It will live on the Internet long after President Obama has left office. Some will make it their life's crusade, ensuring that they have accomplished absolutely nothing constructive, when they cross over to the other side.

Update: For those unfamiliar with US law, let me refer you to Title 8, 1401, Section G of the US Code:

(g) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than five years, at least two of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years: Provided, That any periods of honorable service in the Armed Forces of the United States, or periods of employment with the United States Government or with an international organization as that term is defined in section 288 of title 22 by such citizen parent, or any periods during which such citizen parent is physically present abroad as the dependent unmarried son or daughter and a member of the household of a person
(A) honorably serving with the Armed Forces of the United States, or
(B) employed by the United States Government or an international organization as defined in section 288 of title 22, may be included in order to satisfy the physical-presence requirement of this paragraph. This proviso shall be applicable to persons born on or after December 24, 1952, to the same extent as if it had become effective in its present form on that date;

It does not matter where the President was born. His mother was an American citizen. In addition, I guess the commenter below has not seen the announcement of Obama's birth that appeared in the newspaper. I guess he/she will say that this was a conspiracy fabricated by Obama's father, knowing that he would one day be president of the US. He was born in Kenya, but the birth notice was placed in the paper to throw these "experts" off track.

Here’s Obama’s dilemma in a nutshell (READ VERY CAREFULLY AND DIGEST):

If BHO shows his original long form birth certificate, indeed showing he was born in Hawaii, it will also show his father was American citizen, Frank Marshall Davis, not the Kenyan/British citizen, Barack Obama Sr. While that would allow Barack Jr. to be POTUS eligible as BOTH a "citizen"/“native born citizen” AND an Article 2 “natural born citizen” -- that is, born to two American citizens on American soil -- it would simultaneously show he is a fraud hiding his real father -- a unacceptable political debacle.

If, on the other hand, BHO keeps hiding his original long form birth certificate -- while simply repeating, without showing, he was born in Hawaii -- he can still CLAIM BOTH he was born in Hawaii AND his father was the Kenyan/British Barack Obama Sr. This would enable Barack Jr. to claim he's a "citizen"/“native born citizen” but it would mean (if a federal court would ever get around to declaring and thus far no one has standing to bring the suit) that he’s NOT an Article 2 “natural born citizen” and thus not eligible to be POTUS -- a legal/constitutional debacle since all acts under an illegal POTUS are void.

So it seems, BHO has elected option one until forced to go option two because for now it looks like no federal court will ever find a plaintiff with standing. (Of course, there’s the additional issue of BHO losing American citizen status if/when he became an Indonesian citizen -- that is, IF he returned and was naturalized he would be a legal citizen, but would lose both native and natural born status, and, IF he returned and was not naturalized, he would be an illegal immigrant unlawfully in this country -- but we’ll leave that for another day.)

You call that thing you displayed a birth certificate?
If one is in a high office, there should be no ability to hide, but of course when the media voted for him, he gets the pass that would not be allowed his foes.
Which is he? Proud of his heritage or is there something there that he does not want the public to know?

This is so funny. Sure it is a birth certificate. I have a similar one. It is the kind a state issues. As far as the other crap in the first comment is concerned, you obviously are not familiar with US immigration law and you have swallowed the conspiracy crap the "birthers" are spewing. Where in the world did Frank Marshall Davis come from?

I have a birth certificate and it has my date, time and place of birth. Parents names, Doctor's signature and is the original copy. That thing you are calling a birth certificate is not an official birth certificate. Why would O. not want to clear all this up with just the presentation of his real birth certificate?

Sure it's an official birth certificate. It is what the state issues. Like I said, I wouldn't cave in to the nutcases who are fabricating all of this stuff. Just show the birth certificate issued by the state. It's legal and it isn't even required. The "Shrub" didn't have to show his, neither did any of his predecessors. Some of these nutcases tried this same thing on McCain because he was born in the Canal Zone. It's all a crock. Sarah Palin didn't show hers and it's questionable whether she was even born on the planet.

Obama has lots of unexplainable issues out there and you choose to overlook them all. He came up in politics (Chicago style) from nowhere and ended up in the WH and people in IL. don't even know how it happened.

It was called an election, in case you missed it.

IL. residents call it corruption. You need to read up on all that goes on. Conservatives cannot get elected. Money talks and buys.

GMM,
I'm from New York State and we are issued copies of our original birth certificates. We NEVER receive the original. I don't even have the original birth certificates of my two children, I only received copies in the mail. The bithers are just a bunch of nuts!

Hawaii has birth certificates.
