Nero-Republicans

John McCain has chastised President Obama for making a comment about Rush Limbaugh during a meeting. Big bad liberal bully Obama has to lay off poor Wittle Wushie, if not, Johnny McCain will beat him up. Johnny must take care of his party's new poster boy. After all, he is just a common little guy who has the right to speak up.

Bush's former chief of staff, Andrew Card, has criticized Obama for his lack of respect for the White House. Obama has a different policy from Bush's requirement that coats and ties must be worn when in the office. Card says it shows a locker room atmosphere. I suppose respect for the White House is more important than respect for the Constitution.

Our economy is in the tank. Republican governors are calling for congressional Republicans to get on with dealing with grave economic problems facing this country. Yet, John McCain, the economic "expert" is more concerned with Rush Limbaugh. Others are worried about whether a coat is worn in the Oval Office. Republicans should quit trying to turn the focus to piddling issues like Limbaugh and suits and get down to work. They appear to continuing to dig themselves a deeper hole from which they may never surface. On second thought. Maybe they should continue to "fiddle while Rome burns." Let someone else work to repair their damages. We won't have to be concerned with them for many years to come.

Watch out for the 1st comment ... "she" is a bot.

Anywho ... I have always wondered about that whole "coat & tie" thing. Honestly, I think it is pretentious, though I certainly see how formal meetings would have a higher standard of dress. But simply working in the office & no meetings, a gold shirt & khakis is more comfortable &, indeed, even respectable today.

At my church, it would be a very unusual event to see a guy in a tie as we are laid back --- respectfully, of course.

However, many would say that a glass of wine is no-no regardless of the clothing.

I've wondered why Bill Clinton & apparently now President Obama are so concerned about Rush Limbaugh? I think there are much more important things going on in our country for our government leaders to be concerned about, & actually do something about (which never seems to happen anyway) than to worry about what a talk radio host says or his political position.

I agree with you, Dirk. We have been listening and reading a lot of dissenting comments for the last eight years and GMM thought it was ok, why the disparaging now? mom2

As usual, Mom2, you missed the point. Dirk, on the other hand, got it and had a good comment.

Oh, I get the point alright. We have such important things as funding abortion all around the world, as well as in the U.S. and then we have to make it legal for anyone to marry whatever, etc., etc. This administration is off to a good start. We have learned that some people can refuse to pay taxes and they are still good guys, just make them itty bitty mistakes, ya know. Let's try some reasonable thinking GMM. mom2

No, you still haven't gotten it. I said nothing about all that stuff you alluded to. Try reading again, maybe you will eventually get it, poor dear.

Just why is the left concerned with what Rush says? If you are so busy conducting business, then carry on but don't try to limit free speech. That is my point. mom2

Thank you for finally getting it. I've always been concerned about what Rush says because much of what he spews is inaccurate and tends to incite those of his large following, who don't know any better. At this point he seems to be being allowed to control the Republican party. As far as free speech is concerned, I've said nothing about limiting his right to speak. He has a right to voice his opinions just like you or I.
