The Real Axis of Evil? (Update)

In light of the news this week of the "suicide" of the "latest" suspect in the long anthrax scare investigation this article,

makes one wonder just who the real "Axis of Evil" really is. Who were ABC News' informers? People from Rove's White House or Cheney's office? Most assuredly. Did the President know about it? More than likely. Is the case now closed? It appears so. If Ivins was the one who distributed the anthrax, what was his motivation and how and why did he die? Did he die to close the case before the Bush Regime ends? Was he purposely driven to suicide because his psychiatric profile indicated such was possible? Finally, was he a covert operative of the real "Axis of Evil" who was willing to lay down his life for Bush in order to justify an invasion of Iraq? Monica Goodling indicates that Bush is a great inspiration to some poor unenlightened people. Maybe there are those, who would willingly die for him.

A conspiracy theory of course, and I hate it when people come up with them, but given the track record of a regime that has used the US Constitution as a doormat, one has to really sit back and wonder. If the anthrax had taken out a few critics of the President and his projected war in Iraq, then the results would have been even better for the Regime.

This case isn't closed by any means. There is something going on. It may not be, and probably isn't, the "conspiracy" I outlined above, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered. The Bush Regime's involvement in all of this anthrax business as yet another excuse to invade Iraq is at the top of the anwers to be found. There's definitely something rotten here...rotten to the core, as is usually the case with this "Axis of Evil" triumvirate of Bush, Cheney, and Rove.

A lot of people, including myself, have felt that the real "Axis of Evil" has advocated starting a war with Iran, now that Iraq is quieting down, and given the real "AOE's " lack of interest in Afghanistan. After all what do a few more American lives mean, if the "AOE" can start another war and disrupt or gain control of Iranian oil?

School Vouchers

Thursday's Atlanta Journal contains an article reviewing the contributions to two Georgia state campaigns from a Michigan PAC promoting school vouchers. Apparently, the group spent $33,000 last week for mailings asking voters to support two legislative candidates. This PAC, All Children Matter, was established by a wealthy Michigan GOP couple, Dick and Betsy Devos. The Journal contends that these contributions mark Georgia as a coming battleground for the school voucher issue.

In the mailings the PAC does not mention vouchers, but praises the candidates in other ways. They say they want the candidates to be open to "meaningful education reform." In other words, they want the candidates to help them continue the GOP/reconstructionist campaign to destroy the public school system in this country. It appears that they are supporting candidates in districts with possibly low performing schools. These candidates could be encouraged to support vouchers in order to send their kids to a better school, i.e. a private school. As a result, the candidates are being used to further the cause.

Using government money to support private, mostly church related schools, through so-called vouchers, is yet another blow to the separation of church and state. The current regime in Washington and the Republican party, which has fallen under the spell of the fundamentalist Christian movement, has long advocated government giving tax money to churches through school vouchers and various aid programs for the poor.

The Bush regime has also contributed to the downfall of the public school system with the "no child left behind" program. Children are being taught "the test," instead of following a curriculum that will provide them with a good educational start in life. Teachers are fed up with paperwork and the pressures that come with low test scores. Good teachers are leaving the profession and schools are continually under pressure to meet the Bush standards. All of this bureaucratic nightmare is accomplishing just what the fundamentalists want. Many public schools, particularly urban and poor rural systems are falling farther into an abyss, while the private Christian schools can crow about their attention to learning versus what they call government controlled, Godless education.

Paparazzi and Hollywood

The headline reads, "Police: Paparazzi, guards, fight at Jolie chateau." The article goes on to say, " The (French) police captain said she had no information on the nationalities or the names of the photographers. "I won't hide for you that this kind of thing is really not the type of problem that interests us," she said. "There are, in my opinion, far more important things than paparazzi taking photos of a glamor couple." '

I like this police officer! Let the photographers and bodyguards fight it out. These "glamor couples" create an image of themselves, charge millions for pictures of their, usually illegitimate, children, and then complain when photographers slip around to take pictures of them. A certain Princess, who would have done well to have stayed at home with her children, instead of creating an image of an international playgirl messing with an international playboy, was killed trying to foolishly outrun photographers.

In this country the police get involved because they feel that these people are important and police always like to hang around important people. Because of photographers, the police in California actually escorted Britney "you can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl" Spears from her home either to a hospital or drying out house. I can't recall which, and it isn't important enough to take time to look it up. Can you imagine how much that city police department has spent "protecting" a rich bimbo, who can't take care of herself?

Such "news" used to be relegated to the movie magazines and grocery store tabloids. Now it makes tv news and newspaper headlines. I don't care if some movie star has children. I don't care if one of them adopts a child. I feel sorry for the children, who will probably grow up as mal-adjusted drug addicts, if they follow the suit of so many Hollywood children. If some magazine is stupid enough to pay millions for pictures of these children, let them do it, but it isn't headlines, and I don't want to hear whining from these rich "self important" people who think they shouldn't be bothered.
