Extreme Media May Implode on Their Own
Thirty-three major sponsors have advised FOX News that they do not want their advertisements aired during the Glenn Beck show. Beck has spewed venomous rhetoric since he moved to FOX News, and it has become more harsh since the presidential election. Sponsors do not want their products associated with such negative talk. There is also an issue, I believe, with the fact that people such as Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, and O'Reilly could ultimately be responsible for stirring up violence toward individuals or groups. On the other side, there is Olberman, who sometimes lapses into rants that could also move a loose cannon to act violently.
Sponsors are beginning to see that politics could have an effect on their business. Suppose all Democrats decided not buy from CVS, for example, because its ads appear on O'Reilly? What a disaster that could be for one of the country's top retailers! It is easy to see how such an action could snowball and consume other retailers. At this particular time in a bad economy it could bring a company to its knees quickly. Hmm, how about that?
It is my hope that this snowball will continue to pick up the chaff of radio and TV as it gets larger and rolls over the media. We need good constructive dialogue in this country. There is nothing wrong with debate, but these hacks have done nothing but divide and destroy. The politicians gleefully listen and let the blowhards do their dirty work for them, doing nothing to disavow them and their hatred.
If the Beck's and O'Reilly's of the world want to spew hatred, let them finance it. They are making millions off their venom. There should be no problem. If they truly believe that what they are doing is right, they should ante up their own money to continue. If they do not want to do that, then they can either shut up or straighten up and be civil.

Where Was James Dobson Eight Years Ago?
I've been on the air for 32 years and I've never seen a time quite like this. It just illustrates what happens when we don't have what the Founding Fathers referred to as checks and balances, where the excesses of one party or one branch of government limit the reach of power hungry and self-serving people and keeps them form doing things that are harmful to the country. That's the way the system was designed. We have 2 major political parties in this country, not one. And bipartisanship is a media creation that's designed to promote one point of view instead of the debate that should occur. And that's why media doesn't talk about bipartisanship when conservatives are in power...
...[today] the radical left controls the executive branch through the president, and the Congress... and the Judiciary through the courts... now they control it all, including every department of government. As a result, the legislation that should shock the nation, if people were paying attention, is being rushed into law.
Just exactly where Mr. Dobson was eight years ago, when his party had a majority in Congress and was able to push through any right-wing legislation they desired is anyone's guess. A majority that rubber stamped everything that George Bush and his controller, Cheney wanted enacted. This was the total control that brought us Iraq, torture, a financial meltdown, and a near loss of the Constitution. Sorry, Mr. Dobson, but your slip is showing.

Comedian Limbaugh the Best the GOP Has?
Today Gingrey put his tail between his legs and went groveling to Limbaugh asking his forgiveness. Can you believe it? A politician going to a nutcase like Limbaugh and asking his forgiveness? Does Limbaugh now control the Republican Party? If so, the GOP appears to be going down in its own ball of flames. When the party of Abraham Lincoln and even Ronald Reagan grovels to a radio talk show comedian like Limbaugh, it has reached rock bottom. When a man, who has nothing to offer but a big mouth and extreme right wing rhetoric, can cause a reputable politician to kneel before him like a slave to his master, I shudder to think where the Republican party has fallen.
Oh, by the way, Sarah Palin announced yesterday that she has started a PAC, headquartered in the anti-American section of Virginia. Presumably this is in preparation for her run for something in 2010 or 1012. The presidency? Lord save us all.
